The experts decided to conduct an experiment in the room, which is associated with the adjustment of acoustics. For this, a meeting room was chosen. In order for you to understand this issue more, we will clarify that the length of the room was slightly more than 6 m, the width was 4.5 m, and the height reached almost 3 m. As for the total area of \u200b\u200ball surfaces, it was 116 m, and the volume of the room is 79.6 m. The walls were plasterboard, and the Armstrong suspension system was used as the ceiling. The floor is made of laminate and the reverberation time is 2.5 seconds. The main problem was the duration of the echo, as well as the lack of acoustic comfort. To solve this problem, it was decided to use acoustic panels.

As a result, experts received data that indicated the effectiveness of the use of acoustic materials. They compiled graphs that showed the reverberation time before and after the adjustment. In order to understand this issue in more detail, consider the course of the experiment:

  • The first thing the specialists did was to replace the suspended ceiling panels with sound-absorbing panels. This decision made it possible to rid the room of the “ringing”, the echo disappeared, and acoustic discomfort was not felt at all. Reverberation time was 1.4 seconds;
  • Further, the experts used sound-absorbing materials, which were used to cover the walls. The result was excellent room acoustics and clear speech intelligibility. The reverberation time was 1.2 seconds;
  • After that, the walls of the room were painted with special acoustic panels. As a result of such work, the specialists received the correct direction of sounds, a comfortable acoustic environment and good speech intelligibility. The reverberation time was 1 second;
  • As a completion of their work, the specialists treated the walls with panels. As a result, the specialists received a muffled room, reduced sound intensity, excellent intelligibility of speech and sounds, and a reverberation time of 0.8 seconds;

During the experiment, it became clear that the use of high-quality acoustic materials demonstrated excellent efficiency and made it possible to achieve the desired result in terms of the acoustic situation in the room chosen by the experts.
